Jaleesa Franklin is a Senior Analyst in CenterPoint Energy’s Regulatory Reporting group. Jaleesa attended the University of Houston (UH) where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2012. During her time at UH, Jaleesa was an active member of the National Association of Black Accountants, serving as the UH chapter’s Fundraising Chair and Corresponding Secretary. Upon completion of her undergraduate program, Jaleesa pursued a Masters of Science in Accounting at Prairie View A&M University, completing that program in 2014.
Jaleesa began her professional career as an Audit Associate at Grant Thornton LLP, working on financial statement audits and SOX controls testing of clients in the entertainment and manufacturing industries. After her time in public accounting, Jaleesa joined CenterPoint Energy’s Internal Audit group as an Audit Associate, working mainly on corporate audits. During her time at CenterPoint, Jaleesa has also worked in the Financial Accounting – Corporate group and currently works in the Regulatory Reporting group.
In 2017, Jaleesa fulfilled the requirements necessary to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and became licensed in the State of Texas. She is the owner of Trell Financial LLC, a financial services company, specializing in tax preparation and personal budgeting.
Jaleesa is married to her husband Marcus, and they have a baby girl named Madison.
